Limits: individuals can donate up to $340 dollars, with $180 being earmarked for the primary election and $180 being earmarked for the general election. A husband and wife could each write a separate $360 check for a total of $720 per couple.
Personal checks only. Corporate account checks will be rejected. Montana does not allow corporations or unions to donate to candidates.
Individuals must donate in their own names. Donating in the name of another is illegal in Montana. This includes reimbursing another person for making a donation, or fronting the money to another person who in turn donates it in their own name.
